The temple was a sacred place for the Incas and was used for religious ceremonies. It was dedicated to the sun god Inti, and its walls were covered in gold. The temple was partially destroyed by the Spanish in the 16th century. Nevertheless, several of its facilities remain intact, showcasing the grandeur of Inca architecture.
